North Central Illinois | I'm no electrician, but if you are just going to run your house with it I would think the 17k would be plenty. The 14k would possibly even be big enough. For sure with the 17k I would go with the 200 amp smart switch which would basically switch coming off the meter and power the whole house. If you went with the 14K you might want to go with the 14 circuit transfer switch. An electrician or your generator dealer can help you determine how much capacity you need. | |
