Elizabethtown,KY | I can remember '83 like it was yesterday, but for some reason I can't remember '88, I know that '83 was much worse for us. We had a wet spring that year, finished planting corn on June 20th, had a rain July 4th and then no more until November, most corn made 20-30 bu/ac or less, had a small 15 acre river bottom with a creek on 2 sides and river on the other side that made 100 bu/ac. Started green chopping a load of corn each day the 1st of July for the cows and did this every day until November, filled all the silos we could find as there was no hay. | |
