I was only 3 in 77 but I know it was a wet fall here in Western NY and the dry bean harvest was a mess. Hanging on the wall I have two pictures with an artical from a local paper about my grandpa and uncle harvesting beans, pulling them by hand and bunching them to thrash when it froze. I think they got 30 cents a pound for red kidneys that year.
