SW MN
I Had a neighbor that used NH3 for sidedressing. He was done with it and was taking the anhydrous equipment off his cultivator. There was no tank even on the farm. He had the bleeder valves open. He also was in his sixties so many years experience. Somehow when he unbolted the hose from his stand, he got nailed with a dab of anhydrous left in the hose. It was a very still day. He ran to the house 50 feet away and jumped in the shower within seconds. He had gotten enough in his lungs that it caused infection, and it killed him. As careful a guy as he was, it still got him. If you're using it to save a few bucks, it's not worth it. If you must use it, you CAN NOT be too careful with it. Respect it like nothing else you have worked around. I too have had enough close calls that I finally decided it wasn't worth it. You may not get a second chance with it.
