Driftless SW Wisconsin | Paul, I was speaking with a central IL striptill customer not too far from you who uses an Aerway at an angle to the salks in the fall then striptills CoC between the old stalks in the spring. He has done this for years in very good y'ielding corn. He is very pleased with results. Putting the stalks in contact with the soil but not breaking them loose to blow or wash over the winter they breakdown (the Greywolf effect :) !) and makes spring striptill between the old stalks eas ier while breaking up some tire compaction running 8" deep. c'ould also broadcast some fall fert before the Aerway. MAybe you should talk with this other customer.
