IL
I had a field that was COC for 5 yrs, the rows where the wheels ran on the old rows, the residue was gone 9 mos after the previous harvest, the rows with vert. stalks, had some stalk carcasses left, but was leaving. The trick is to get all the stalks on the ground to rot. This fall I ran stompers on every row to break them over to start decomposing. I am curious to see things next yr. If I had one, I would probably run a roller over the stalks in the spring,.. or have one of somesort mounted on the front of the planter.....just kinda dreaming
