So now what? Will there be a lot of land looking for new tenants next year? Will they be done, or will they go through bankruptcy and keep rolling like nothing happened? If they have a long term lease can the landlords get out of them if they are still farming?

If it goes thru Bankruptcy court , the court could tie up the the land if under multi year contract if the Judge ( AKA GOD) in bankruptcy
wants to do . In the past these judges have done things that are at best questionable to normal people.. Some include lower rents , throwing out claims
and discounting claims . So $400 rent can be much less if the court so chooses and reach back and lower rent for previous years if it chooses.
Some land lords my find that big rent isn't so big any more.
If it goes thru Bankruptcy system remember the JUDGE is GOD in these proceedings.

You are correct, I lost a farm this spring (that I was supposed to get for this year), previous tenant declared bankruptcy, court forced landowner to continue to rent land to him, high prices made it pencil out on paper.
