| Not all words are as timeless and their meanings aren't always as distinct as you would pretend them to be. Words are really nothing more than a symbol that are used to communicate a thought or meaning.
Words weren't created in a vacuum and their meanings can change over time either subtly or drastically, again whether you like it or not. This has happened since the beginning of the use of language so
there is no point in limiting the blame to "postmodernism". Get over it and deal with it.
It does seem a bit hypocritical that earlier in this thread you wanted to be granted the right to interpret a symbol (picture) and yet you seem to deny that other symbols (words)should be open to interpretation by other people.
You seem to allow that a symbol (picture) can represent more than one distinct meaning but that another symbol (words) can't. This type of spinning that you do is what leads people to question your honesty and integrity. | |
