| wow... you made some interesting choices for your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th postings on this forum. From my seat it appears you are just looking to start a fight rather than listen to what others are trying to tell you.
That aside. If a beloved shape file is what you want, then they offer a way to get there for free.
I'm not sure what you are getting from a "free viewer" software that makes you think they need to offer something (I'm not familiar with EZ view, or others). I run SMS software because I want to look at all the data that was logged by their displays and many other systems. This includes cleaning data, querying the data, running analysis, reports and customized printouts etc. I don't expect anyone to make a program for free that allows me to do something usefull with the data.
And their files are not proprietary - they allow others such as Farmworks, Mapshots, SST to read the files, it is up to those companies to include or not, and which products they include it with.
If the files were proprietary, then other vendors wouldn't be able to support the .yld, ilf, or other file types. - then you would have an argument | |
