You guys are missing that he talked to the guy THAT MORNING and the guys said come look. He could have told him someone else is taking it or trying it out or whatever.
OP Did NOTHING wrong. He just tried to deal with a douchebag.
+1, If the seller had sold it the week before, OP would have been too late, as it stands if seller was stand-up guy he would have sold it to the guy who drove to look or at least paid him for his travel. Other thought is how many of you who feel he should have just sent him the money have told guys who did that and were burned they should never have sent money before looking, To the OP I am with you many without ethics, I do not do Facebook, but Craigslist is miserable also and frustrating, but what choice does one have, just looked at the ads in the Agri-View used to be several pages, now you can literally count the ads on one hand. |
