I've seen areas of a field do ~300 bpa on 24,000 seeds dropped.    It takes a unicorn of a year and we probably gave up some yield potential in those good areas that particular year from not having enough plants out there.   

That was planted with a ground drive planter with straight rate population on the whole field and that is a field that benefits greatly from variable rate prescription planting.
