Subject: RE: Upping population

Northeast, Nebraska
32,500 is my sweet spot over trials over years on irrigated ground. My dry land varies from 20,000 to 28,000 depending on topography and soil type. My average aph over all acres is 246 bu. The more plants you have out there, the more nutrients and water it takes to grow a bushel. On the other hand, you have to have enough plants to hold the payload as well. Everyone will have a different number based on the field. I do know you can grow 250 bushel corn on 24000 pop but it dangs a dang good variety to do that.
