60 miles south of Indianapolis | does anyone here have a more global view of things than can help me as to what mechanism is driving the price of fat cattle to be excessively lower? For the life of me I i can't understand what about this current global crisis has changed the demand for beef? In a normal setting is there numerous weeks of US beef production in storage to feed all the restaurants and supermarkets with beef and that inventory is being used up? My simple mind thinks that people are still eating beef for lunch or dinner regardless of whether that be on a cruise ship, in a restaurant, at a ball game, flying on an airplane, etc. I simply don't get it.
