Johnstown Ohio | I have a 5 acre field in central Ohio that has been pasture for a really long time. I don't pasture it anymore, we have been making hay off it. The first cutting is plentiful but a lot of weeds, second cut is almost not worth the effort. I want to overseed something into the grass to make better hay for my feeder calves. I have a bunch of old oats in the grainery, I am planning to drill into this field but what would be a good mix of hayseed to put in the grass box on the drill?
Also would it hurt anything to drill some of those oats into the pasture that I run 600-700 lb feeders on? | |
