NE Iowa | Disc the field once or twice depending on the aggressiveness of your disc. Do this as early in the spring as you can. As soon as the ground isn't froze and dry enough to support you is perfect. The disc will only kill a portion of the grass, stunt the rest, and give you some loose dirt. Then, drill 15-20# per acre of alfalfa. Have done this before and ended up with a nice mixed alfalfa/grass stand. | |
