Sw. Ill | My dad ran his mower out of oil. Its a big toro rider. One that you get at a dealer, not a home depot special. Prob 10 years old. I did a little diagnostics and have figured out one connecting rod broke as the piston does not move on that side. Suprisingly it runs pretty good on the other cylinder i drove it on the trailer after adding oil of course. Anyway does anyone know if the rods are replacable? Or is the crank assembly pressed togather with the rods as one unit? Id like to try and replace the rod if the crank looks ok once i get it apart.
Also im looking at the 22 hp predator engines at harbor freight and wondering if one of those would bolt in? This is a horizontal shaft motor. The predators are about $700. Ive had good luck with the smaller engines.
Mower isnt worth putting a new kohler in. | |
