73036 | I'm not familiar with this engine, but have replaced rods in engines that have run out of oil. I doubt the crankshaft is hurt. But will need to clean the aluminum off from the crankshaft, as the aluminum melts, an sticks to the shaft. This can be polished off with very fine emery cloth, or the better solution is to remove it with HCL acid (what they use in swimming pools). But, be sure to price all the parts you intend to replace, as it can get quite expensive overhauling a small engine. If just want to patch it up with a rod an a head gasket, won't be too bad, but if intend to overhaul it, the harbor freight engine might make more sense. | |
