Subject: How late is too late for wheat?

North Central Illinois
I have a field that I planned to seed to wheat, but it still has standing beans on it, and it will likely not be dry enough to combine until the end of the week. How late before I throw in the towel? I usually have it in by the 10th of October, and it doesn't always get much growth in the fall then.
