Nevada, Iowa | Maybe a dumb question (s), is there any reason why a whole hog couldn't be parceled out and smoked like hams? Has anyone here ever done that, was it tasty? Finally, is there any processor near me (100 mi.) that could do this?
Reason for the inquiry, I've been raising hogs for 35 years and have been planning my exodus for over a year. I have taken my time getting out and have become accustomed to the idea and lately have become rather joyful about it. I have a few left and with the holiday season approaching, I would like to share that feeling with a few special friends and relatives. I would like to process a hog or two into something rather memorable and distribute as Christmas gifts. Any constructive input, ideas or answers to my questions will be appreciated. Thanks | |
