Sorry, I sliped of the point of the OP a bit. but yes, a whole hog can be cured , smoked , or whatever....As for smoking. Thin peices need less time and less heat to smoke. Just cure the whole darned hog and BBQ the thing......I dont see any reason it cant be done.Or, just BBQ it...
