Subject: Case 1200 Planter/Pro700 Monitor - VR Problems

SW Nebraska Panhandle

We upgraded from the Universal display to a Pro700 display so we could variable rate plant and fertilize this year on 1200 Pivot fold planter.  We have the monitor set up to operate the planter as normal (we think - haven't actually tried it).  However, we are unable to get a prescription uploaded.  Some info-

1) Monitor version - 27.  We understand you cannot use a newer version with the 1200 planter.

2) We had our agronomist create a .CN1 file and we created our own with Feildview.

3) We bought an "official" USB drive from Case.

4) The monitor recognized there is a USB drive installed.

5) When we try the import function it is grayed out.

6) There is no Import2 function.  Understand that this is not available on V27.  I understand Import2 is there to covert shape files into CN1 files.  BUt can't do that.

7) When we bring up the screen to select the prescription there is no prescription there.

8.  There is only 1 CN1 file on the USB drive.

According to the Case experts and the agronomists we should be able to variable plant with this setup.  Had a guy work on it for 3 hours this morning and he left saying he had to make some calls.

We spent a fair bit of $ss for grid sampling, the Pro700, etc so we could variable rate seed and fertilize and now we are just a couple days from starting to plant and still not there yet.

Do we need to buy a TC unlock to make it work?  1 Case guy said we did and the other said we didn't.  Hate to spend the $700 only to find out it is something else.  But if that is what makes it work then no problem.
