Central Illinois | Just saw on the Springfield, IL news that a 12 year old was killed tonight when the car he was riding in crashed into the back of grain cart that was stopped on the road. This was a county highway south of Rochester. From the video it looked like a good sized auger cart and was about half in the lane, half on the shoulder. The report said there were no lights on the cart and it was after dark.
The boys grandmother was driving and she was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Prayers for the boys family. I couldn't even imagine.
I have no idea as to why the cart was there, broke down or what, but just another reminder to use extra caution. | |
