Subject: Re: cost of hauling

Southwest Missouri
If I recall, you charge everything by the hour. Is this why round bales are more expensive for you to haul?

There are virtually no small bale hay trucks here. They are done by hand. I earned my way through high school and college bucking bales. There are few people who will do that now. That shortage prompted the move to big rounds. There is a cost of ruined hay, but it is less than the cost of hiring small bales hauled.

I agree with your observations on hay storage.
