| One again interesting comments however a good buddy of mine and brother in arms grew up in Paradise, his house, his sisters house and his elderly parents home we are all in Paradise which is near Chico in Northern CA, not the desert, and not quite up to the forest level. There is nothing of any logging value in the area it’s only 1780’ in elevation.
No one has ever seen it this dry in November from the area. Typically it starts raining in the area in mid September and by November the grass has turned green for the winter months. November is usually when the cattle is moved into the area being brought down from Idaho or Oregon for the winter.
With the high pressure ridge over California, this week before the fire started we were bombarded with dry wind coming out of the north, and this area has another jet stream of dry wind coming out of northern Nevada and down over the Serrias. Typically this time of year the jet stream should be bringing warm moist air out of the tropics and bombarding the serrias with snow in the high elevations and rain in the low elevations.
All last week PG&E has been temporarily shutting off power due in the hills to the high winds and dry weather. | |
