| Right now RBOB nearby futures is $2.03 per gallon while fuel ethanol is $1.25. Just the energy value of ethanol alone should be worth $1.40. The difference between $2.03 and $1.25 is 78 cents, at 10% ethanol the fuel dealers are making 8 cents per gallon of gasoline sold in windfall profit. That's worth about $31 million per day, $11 billion a year.
If the corn growers got even a part of that $11 billion it could be a big help given the current situation. | |
