ECIL | Somehow you guys all think that the infrastructure for these "backdoor" trade routes is fully developed and the most efficient way to get beans into China. This will cost more and in the meantime China will be investing money in more acres and getting Brazilian infrastructure improved. In no time, tariffs or not, Brazil will be the best avenue for the Chinese to get their beans. This tariff business will cost the US farmer, regardless of who else buys our beans or if they go through the backdoor to China.
The protectionism business is just throwing a bone to the labor unions, typical liberal Democrat fare. | |
