I have been slowly retiring for 8 years, did not need to buy equipment except for bins, sent a lot of big checks to FCredit, every thing 179'd, bought another small farm or two, but mostly paid a lot of taxes. Don't get caught up in paying next years crop expenses this fall, selling grain in the next year and 179ing everything, maximizing SEP, pay a few taxes along the way or you will be sorry. We are very comfortable but paying more than our fair share of taxes. My opinion is to buy another farm rather than IRA's and SEP'S but cash is nice, hind site is always best. Best not to complain when your mouth is full.
Good job Al! You did well.
