I see big changes in Ag if low prices continue in this area....farms need to be larger because of machonery but with irrigation being necessary the way it is management can’t keep up because of the labor situation.

To farm 5,000 acres now it’s not unusual that a middle aged producer needs a 3-5 million dollar net worth. People who have that kind of net worth and an education have choices. Couple that with the fact that all you had to do 30 years ago to farm and get financing was have land rented. Farmers have always got out of farming but I see this happening more when the rewards aren’t there any longer.

I don’t plan to get out of farming but I wonder sometimes if I could net out 3 million dollars if it wouldn’t be easier and more profitable to have that money in houses or apartments....not sure??
How old are You, Rice? Before I comment, your age is the biggest driver in the equation.
