What good would direct payments do? Keep rents higher for longer? Keep the local equipment dealer open? Seed corn high?
What it boils down to is money management and risk management. Corn and beans will hover around the cop. We must manage our risk on the plus side and not allow greed to bring in the risk of the bottom side.
The operations doing a good job managing risk and expenses will thrive. The ones in the middle will just get by. The guys at the bottom of this management will burn equity until there is no more to burn. All of us need to figure out which of the 3 we are and go forward accordingly.
Government handouts and old money can only go so far.
