Central Iowa

Our corn in Central Iowa is projected to black layer September 10.... That is 114 day corn mostly. A lot of people, even in this area, are still planting 105-108 day corn which will probably black layer at the end of August. We were 4" below normal for precip mid June and now 4" ahead. Nitrogen is going to run low and kernels will be light with those black layers dates (Assuming a normal summer).....But... Yields will still be big, but the mid 170s is still BIG.

We are just one area.
