Central Texas | What John is referring to in above post is an independent adjuster that represents you. They normally get a % of total payment and know how the process works. That being said, unless your insurance co isn’t treating you right would avoid hiring independent adjuster. In my years as an agent saw very little need for the independents in vast majority of cases. Most of the larger companies have their own employee adjusters but some companies use non employee, contract adjusters. In the event of a major widespread calamity the big co’s will sometimes hire contract adjusters to help out. The employee adjusters usually do everything within reason,they can to make the insured happy whereas the contract guys are typically more interested in keeping the ins co happy so they can continue to get more work for that company.
If you are dealing with actual ins co employee adjuster doubt will need to hire an independent to represent you. If you are dealing with a contract (not ins co employee) adjuster and experience problems then hiring an independent adjuster may be a worthwhile option. | |
