W. Kansas | Must be 16 in order to mow or run powered equipment to keep all the OSHA people happy. My daughter worked for me here at the dealership last summer when she was 15. She got good at using a garden hose to wash vehicles and equipment with. She can make an old faded red combine shine up with a good wax job too!
The government is instilling laziness into these kids with rules that keep them from working. I've had numerous high school aged kids approach me for a job, but I'm making it mandatory they be 16. Now that my daughter is 16 she can mow, run the power washer, etc...but I can't send her on a parts run in a company vehicle now until she's 17. That's another government stipulation, not a company insurance rule. | |
