Thanks Catman. Looking in spec. manual (for the '98), shows spring (with length specs) in top of filter housing. Is there a kit to replace, or how do you be sure where problem is? Don't have it in shop yet to look close.
BTW - why did they do away with the primer pump on newer models? Looks like same base and if I remember right takes same filter as older 3406's.
