Iowa | The fuel return check valve in picture #1 is the 1" hex nut above the word "BLEED". The paint is already worn off that hex, so I assume people have been bleeding the fuel system from that point. Bleeding(by the book) and w/o a hand pump, consist of loosening that hex nut/valve three full turns; then crank engine so the fuel transfer pump can try and push fuel thru the system and remove any air that might be trapped in the system; may require a few 30 second cranking periods, then tighten hex/valve back down(don't overtighten) then try and crank to actually start the engine. [We install hand priming punps at our dealership and just use it to purge out the air, instead of cranking.] If your serial number starts with MBL prefix; your updated part number for the check valve(above the word "bleed"), is probably 281-2725(valve grp-check) and the mounting o-ring is 6V4589(seal-o-ring). | |
