Huge last year, this year nothing. Small PLC payment for one field in alfalfa that has an oats base. I'm assuming next year ARC payments should be huge again based on lower yield this year and prices?
No I think it is set up to always average the past few years, so as prices go down, the payments also will trend downward. A very silly 'safetynet' program! With farm commodities typically cyclical, it only follows the same cycle. D'oh.
I got a letter telling me I got $4 for some oats base, and a total of $54. I don't understand the $50 part, never got a notice on that. It's govt paperwork, never really understandable. The $4 is total, not per acre as I read it.
Edit: got a letter with more money deposited a day later., for corn I think. Not near the past 2 years, but more than I expected.
