Thanks t rock. I don't know if you saw my recent post but I filled them up on grass hay for the last day or so and they still have hay behind them, just out of the pictures.  Unfortunately no straw around here. 

I opened just a small portion of the strip and will check on them this morning.  The big unknown for me this year is the radishes, never tried grazing those before. I try to keep in mind what effect eating too many not quite mature radishes or turnips would have on me...and go cautiously.  Can't afford to lose any cows or calves.

I keep dry grass hay available to them at all times when on turnips and now radishes.
