Beresford, SD | Pay extra for reputation...vaccinated calves and do nothing for 45 days after arrival! If the works been done no point in reintroducing more stress. My two cents. Have a neighbor that feeds 1500 head per year. Has not vaccinated anything for 5 years on his farm, but buys nothing but Vac 45 reputation cattle.......his death loss for the last 5 years is virtually hard to believe. Last time we talked it was just under 1% for 5 year average. The key to this being successful is buying reputation cattle and not buying odd ball cheaters and the barn. I am leaning more towards his method of buying every year. | |
