Southwest Iowa | I know along the state highways in Iowa employees aren't allowed to work outside the 15 ft they mow due to funding. The other Side of that is farmers are more careless.
Our county mowed highway ditches this year all the way to the fence. They look good, took care of a lot of brush and weeds. A neighbor was complaining they destroyed too much habitat for pheasants and butterflies.
We try to keep brush and weeds out of the ditches on our farms as time allows. | |
