In the last several years the Iowa department of transportation has spent millions of dollars killing and tilling established stands of grass along hwy 20 and reseeding with wildflower mixes. You don't suppose there are any stray thistle seeds in the mix? I predict in ten years most of the highway right of way will be one enormous thistle patch
