I expect our bean crop to be half of last year which will put us at about 20-25bpa. We were dry all summer beans actually seemed to have held on good. Hooked an inch or so second week in August they looked alright but the damage was already done. To many aborted pods already. Anyone who says August rains make beans is only right to an extent. You need rain in July as well in this country. July killed our row crops in this area, hot, dry and windy. I know North Dakota is small potatoes in the grand scheme but This will be the worst bean crop we've raised on our farm without a doubt.
