C IL | Well, I feel we are with the crowd. We have also experienced significant tipback in the last two weeks. Scouted early corn early in pollination and was quite surprised at potential. Ears were 16 and 18 around and long enough. Dry but decent enough start to pollination.
I felt fairly jolly about things until the (3) 85-degrees nights two weeks ago. Went back out this week and felt unpleasantly surprised how much tipback and pollination issues there were.
Replant corn now looks like early corn did two weeks ago, but a long way to go to get to a black layer kernel. | |
