That's too bad all around - 3 lives lost and 1 life changed forever.
People taking this lightly and making jokes of it don't understand the severity of taking someone's life. While I think the homeowner was justified in what they did, it's unfortunate 3 lives are lost and the shooter will have to deal with this for the rest of his life. Steel, please don't take this the wrong way, as were almost neighbors, and I know you're a good guy, but I think you are misguided in this one. I think if you would replace the word sad with maybe unfortunate, you'd be more spot on in your assessment. More than likely, had the shooter been unarmed, and met three guys in the hallway armed with a knife and brass knuckles, he would have paid with HIS life. I can't imagine taking the life of another human being, but put in a situation where armed thugs enter my home, I wouldn't hesitate. i am satisfied in the outcome, with zero sympathy for the perps.
