| Co worker at the dealership few years back was buying a Polaris Ranger on CL for really cheap. Of course the standard story of guy was on an oil rig off of Texas and the ranger was in Maine deal.
I usually stay out of peoples business but tried to tell him it was a scam. The guy selling always had the right things to say and kept him hooked, also was going to accept Paypal for payment. Coworker "knew" it was legit because it was Paypal and he had their protection.
Finally I walked him to the computer and Google searched about Paypal scam and CL. First thing that popped up was about this exact scam down to the oil rig, ranger and every detail.
Seeing it in black and white convinced him and saved him a couple grand.
