N.W. Illinois | As a farmer I scouted my corn for corn borer from the 1970s until corn borer resistant corn came out and let me tell you scouting for corn borer sucked here in my area of N.W. Illinois. Multiple generations of corn borer and some years overlapping generations of corn borer was the norm. Many times I would find low numbers in one part of the field and 20 rows over there were hot spots with corn borer out the ass. What strategy do you use with circumstances like that? You are fortunate that you farm in a location that everything is black and white. | |
