I answered a want ad in the paper (to say how long ago this was....) in spring and bought a field cultivator. They were asking $800 in the ad, a dealer had same thing on a lot for $1200. Drove up looked it over and said I'll take it, $800.
Well you woulda thought I kicked their dog......
They hemmed around and said well we suppose it's worth $600, and so I bought it for $600. But man I really seemed to ruin their day by not offering to haggle a bit first. They just seemed so disappointed.
