Von WC Ohio - 12/7/2016 06:45 Saw a preview of a Pearl Harbor special on TV last night interviewed a lot of 90+ yr old vets who were there.
One lamented that when talking to kids today they did not know anything about what had happened at Pearl Harbor. Another made the reference to a similar quote I have made here before about "those that fail to learn from the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them." Von, I am teaching high school physics part time these days. It is not only Pearl Harbor. Kids today know very little about Vietnam. That really concerns me... and time and time again it has been shown "those who fail to learn from the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them." How many current members of Congress even remember the lessons of Vietnam let alone Pearl Harbor? Even the Congressional "tough guys" have almost never been in any of the services nor basic training. |
