E. Kansas | I guess if you don't want to deal with anything less than $1 increments, you could always round up everything you purchase and tell them to keep the change. Some stores have boxes at the check out lanes to accept change for various charities. I'm certain they'd appreciate all the change you wanted to give them.
I won't carry change. It's a hassle, and almost never have quite enough when I need it. But I won't just leave it for the store. A credit card solves lots of hassle, here.
