Anything is possible if enough money is thrown at it.But on the other hand if something is built right today it may be still in use 30 years from now,maybe not full time or for the original owner but doing a job similar to what it was designed for.It seems like a lot of progress comes in a big burst then sits there while people fine tune it for many different uses then when we hit a wall we look at something in a different way and something takes a leap again.

I am not much for sayings by magazine editors but one time there was a quote that you are more likely to find 4-5 things to change that each improve yield 4-5 bushels/acre than to find one thing that gives you 20 bushel improvement.

Trendline yields have been on a pretty consistent upward slope, but that is not guaranteed and neither is a profit, I have had very little insect problems the last 10 years,for a long time it seemed liked aphids,or bean beetles were hurting yields every year,we may have just went through the good times and didn't realize it..
