South Central Iowa | Also I will add, the past looks remarkably like the present. It isn't as drastically different as you might imagine. Our greatest difference is the internet and the success of certain medical treatments. Beyond that you could have running water 140 years ago, light your home 120 years ago, call and talk to someone on the other side of the world 100 years ago, drive 70 mph in a regular production car over 80 years ago, fly to any corner of the world in a jet 60 years ago, and go to the moon 50 years ago. We have had grocery stores and air conditioning and heating and entertainment devices and literacy and leisure time and sports and television and movies and music recordings and atm's and suburbs and a hundred other things for generations. We are modern man and we are marginally different than those of prior generations. We are far different from the pioneers. Unless we conquer the stars, the future looks a lot like now with marginal improvements here and there.
For proof please see the failure of wearables and widespread 3d printing and momentum machines hamburger maker. Everyone carries on about every internet related business like it has never been done before, CHRIST! Amazon is the sears catalogue and Uber is an unlicensed taxi for god sakes!
Rant over and for the record I'm not an old man.
