Here's a link to the cropland area of Alberta. You can compare to an atlas and get an idea of the extent of the farmland. The area in the NW of the province is what is referred to as the Peace Country, as it largely follows the Peace River. They got lots of rain this fall and it snowed early and it never really left. Thousands and thousands of acres left out up there. The NE of the province is along Highway 16 and north to the edge of the cropland. Again, lots of rain during harvest, and lots of acres out yet. Alberta Farmer is in what we call the Highway 2 corridor, the stretch of land between Edmonton and Calgary. Great farmland, but when it wants to rain, it can rain for days.
